Emotional Support Animal Letters

Hugging a Puppy

An Emotional Support Animal* (ESA) letter is a legal document written by a licensed mental health professional (LMHP)—such as a psychologist, psychiatrist, therapist, or clinical social worker—that verifies a person has a mental or emotional disability and that their animal provides necessary emotional support to help alleviate symptoms of that condition.

Our therapists offer this service to individuals who qualify and meet criteria for a mental health condition.

*Emotional Support Animals are not to be confused with service animals. To learn more about the difference between the two, go to: https://adata.org/service-animal-resource-hub-differences
