Carolina Luna, LCSW-S, CCTP, CTMH

I was born and raised in New York (AKA the "Great Apple" and "City that never sleeps") and relocated to Houston, TX back in 2015. I wear many hats: mom to 3 amazing neurodivergent daughters, wife to the greatest husband for 16 years, and proud owner and founder of the practice, A New Chapter Counseling Services, PLLC.
Back in high school, I knew that I wanted to become a social worker after I saw firsthand the healing impact social workers can have on one person and an entire family. I graduated early from high school, obtained my Bachelors in Social Work in 2008 and my Masters in Social Work from Fordham University as Magna Cum Laude.

Throughout my career, I have worked in various settings including outpatient hospital programs, inpatient psychiatric and major city hospitals, a non profit organization, a group private practice and since 2021, I have been working in my own private practice. I have loved the privilege of working with folks from all different walks of life, including children, teens, adults and older adults with a variety of presenting problems.

The thing I am most passionate about is helping parents work through their own childhood trauma as they navigate parenting their child(ren) in a trauma-informed approach that meets the needs of the whole child (physiological, social, emotional and ecological needs). My ultimate goal, and what feels like a mission, is to break generational cycles of trauma by bringing healing to adults who were not given what they needed in their childhood, so that they can raise healthy and well adjusted children who would then pass that down to the next generation.

In my free time, I make it a priority to regularly get massages, spend time with my husband and daughters, and enjoy the recent discovery that bike riding can be fun again as an adult.
